Transcription: We see Moses killing an Egyptian whom he had caught maltreating a Jew. His flight into the land of Midian where he met the daughters of the priest Jethro and helped them water their flock while fending off some herdsmen. Then we follow him onto Mount Horeb as he pastures his father in Boar's herds and God calls him from the flames of the burning bush. with the mission to save his people. Finally, we glimpse Moses as he leads the children of Israel out of the land of exile. In order to stress the symbolic and prophetic character of his painting, Botticelli gave Moses the face of Christ.
